🌒 Every month the Moon walks a full circle of light and shadow; your place on that circle comes from the lunar age since the true new moon (Hồ Ngọc Đức's algorithm, UTC+7). The four marker phases — new, full and the two quarters — are barely two days wide, the four in between are several times wider, and every book draws those borders a little differently.
