🍕 Fair Shares
A sharing game for first graders that plants the seeds of division and fractions: a tray of cookies sits in the middle of a little tea party, animal friends wait around their plates, and you tap each plate in turn to deal the treats out fairly, then count how many each friend gets and, once in a while, how many are left over on the tray. Two more modes train the eye for fractions: spot the treat that is cut into two truly equal halves among lopsided cuts, and find the pizza cut into four equal parts, then slide out exactly one quarter. Every question is read aloud, a wrong pick stacks the two pieces on top of each other so the mismatch is plain to see, and five right answers in a row earn a star.
In Share out, tap each friend's plate to drop one cookie at a time — go around the table so everyone gets the same, and when the tray is empty tap the number that shows how many each friend got. In One half, tap the treat that is cut into two equal halves; a wrong pick makes the two pieces stack on top of each other so you can see the mismatch. In One quarter, find the food cut into four equal parts, or slide one slice out of the pizza and say how many parts make the whole. Tap an empty spot to hear the question again. Five right answers in a row earn a star.
