The roof shows a number, the chicks waddle into two rooms, and every new way of splitting the number lights one more band of the rainbow.
The roof shows the target number and the chicks wait in the yard: tap a room and the nearest chick waddles in, hold the room and they stream in one by one, or drag a chick in yourself. To take one back out, drag it into the yard, or press the arrow button to send the whole flock back. In Free split, every time the yard empties the house reads out what you made, like ten is six and four, and a new pair lights one more band of the rainbow; a pair you already found only flashes, because six and four is the same pair as four and six. In How many more, one room is already filled and the yard holds a few chicks too many, so count carefully and press the door button when the other room is right. Nothing is ever lost: a wrong count just wobbles, then the chicks get numbered one by one and an empty ten frame shows what is still missing. A finished rainbow earns a star.
