Validation uses the browser's native JSON parser, so it accepts exactly what your code will accept; an error is marked on its line and column (click the red line to jump there in the input). In the tree, ▸/▾ folds a node, clicking a row shows its JSONPath and highlights the matching line of the output. Above 1 MB only formatting runs: no tree, no colouring.
